Session EP on Mueller Records (Germany)

Some Feedback

Laurent Garnier - yes yes yes, super funky techno tracks, will play Session everywhere.

Carl Cox - Session is definitely the best of the bunch here.

Ben Irving (Nish Nish, London) - Fat peak time action....quality, Session the one for me. Nice one, cheers.

Renato Figoli (Trapez / Traum) - Yeahhhhh....TECHNO!!! I like it.

Colin McBean (Mr G) - yeah i'd get on night train............pumping.

Anthony Shakir (Detroit) – I like session and night train. I will play them in my sets. Keep doing what you do.

Fra Soler (Ferenc / Kompakt /Nitsa Club) - Night train is pumping!
Really good Release. Very intense.

Jeremy P. Caulfield (Dumb Unit) - this is pretty tough stuff but i give it thumbs up! Well produced, good energy.

Daniel Holc (Ascii Disko) - oh my god it is TECHNO Music! I love this stuff and will play it at the right moment and the right time...THIS IS HEAVY STUFF!

Anderson Noise - I really like "Session"!

Tommy Four Seven (Kill Brique / Catwash Records) - Feeling the session track. Nice.

Dan Sykes (Spin South West / Irish electronic radio show) - This is one unbelievable Ep, im not usually into this speed for techno but this has won me over the melodies etc. just reaches out & doesn't let you go.
I'm playing this on the radio, at gigs, in the car
& when I'm cooking dinner. It's Fantastic!
Favourite track is Session - Killer massive track.

Mathias Schaffhäuser (WARE) - like the 90s never happened... ;-)

Cari Lekebusch - Downward is nice, ima drop that on occasion. :)

Andrew Grant (Circo Loco) - luv this label, luv the tracks.

Alan Chapman (Urban Gorilla) - Fantastic stuff! :) Particularly Night Train.
Nice balance between the tougher side of Techno I love but with a subtle melodic side.

Chris Fortier - night train best here.

Adi Dumitra (Snejl / Only) - Good positive techno action in this one,
quite a difference from the regular slower tempo we got used to right now. I tried Night Train out and the reaction was very good,
so this should do well. Im supporting.

Antony di Francesco (Lost Souls) - A bit too fast for me but some nice tracks.

Carsten Rechenberger (www.deejay.de) - good to see that Müller is back on the screen and still knows how to drop good Techno records - I like "Downward" most.

Franck de Villeneuve (Loukoum) - Session is a sort of crossing between house and progressive, i like the synths choice.

Dustin Zahn (Enemy Records) - Whoa! A trip back to 2003! Downward is pretty nice. Does Hawkinson love Neon? :)

Andy D (MOS Radio) - Stonking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Max Cooper - Full support on the release - Night train is the best for me.

Bruno (Citizen Kain / My Best Friend / Harthouse) - I like a lot the track "Session", i will play it but the 2 others tracks are not really my style.

Andreas Muegge (D.Diggler / Cocoon) - Cool!

Philip Sherburne (Earplug / EMusic/ Urge / Pitchfork / Slate) – Powerful stuff, though it's not entirely my style. My pick is "Downward",
for those lush chords.

Damon Fonooni (Habersham) – Wow, Downward is for me classic techno at its very finest. Will be playing!

Sean O'Neal (Someone Else / Found Sounds / Tuning Spork) - I like
"night train". But these are too much hard-style for me.
Alland Byallo (Liebe Detail / Floppy Funk / Dirtybird) - Proper techno! I love it! Full support.

Parham Shaft (Fokused Network, Sweden) - I like the Session.

Duncan King (Babyshake) - Top draw, will play session and Night Train this weekend! Full support!

Aldrin Zouk (Zouk Club) - Session is great!
Perfect for a peaktime techno workout.

Christopher Spero (Glimpse) - GREAT TO HEAR SOME PROPER TECHNO AGAIN. REMINDS ME OF 98-99... SUPPORT!!!!

Rick Bull (Deepchild / Freerange) - Heyhey...proper techno, innit!
Been a while since I've heard shizzle like this. "Downward" is ramming...ballsy stuff, no messing around here!

The Beginning EP on Pure Substance Digital (Malaysia)

Description

Up next on PSD, Berlin based DJ/Producer Hawkinson, who recently signed with Mueller Records for his first 12" release present us, 3 of his Original works in the form of the tech house sound.

Beginning, is a deep groovy piece with male vocal stabs and nice warm house feel, flip to The Past, a more fat bassline and percussion works making it rollin and more clubby driven mix and lastly, Da Fresh, moving along nicely with a more rhythm and soul vibe ending the debut EP from Hawkinson. A must for underground house djs!

Feedback

Megan for SPESH - Beginning is a perfect summer song, can see the dancefloors rockin to this groovy tune! In my bag!

Sasha Le Monnier - These are 3 great tracks, gonna be charting this release for sure. Its nice to see there is still good house sounds.

Sean McClellan - Beginning is the one for me in this package, solid progressive house.

Xaric - The Past is the tune for me. Love the fat bassline and vocal. Will play it.

Derek Hayes aka Jerico - Another fantastic release from PS, the one that i can't stop playing is Beginning. Great stuff from Hawkinson.

Native (Swordtail Records) - Beginning is the tune for me here, really cool percussion and bass groove giving the track a nice danceable style!

Rob Warner - I'm totally digging two of the tunes, Beginning and The Past. Beginning is really cool man, sort of epic future tech prog, does the job without being too anthemy and The Past is dope! I love how it's done quite dubby style, low-key and grungy. Even listening to the third tune, Da Fresh, it's sort of Daft Punk-ish almost but not old sounding. Fresh!

Joe Sweeney (S3 Promo Pool) - I like Da Fresh because its well fresh!

Darin Epsilon - Da Fresh is definitely my top pick in this package. Catchy beat and melody, should work on the dancefloor.

Alex Nemec - The Past is a growy late nite affair, played it Friday in a small dark room, went nuts.

Chris Sterio (Source of Gravity) - Really cool EP, definitely the way forward! 8/10 will chart.

Arjun Vagale - Like Da Fresh tune. Will play.

David (Fiberlineaudio.com Recordings) - Very nice release from PSD. My favorite track is Beginning. 8/10 overall rating.

Bojan Mladenovic - Beginning is a very good track.

Dj Harsh - I like the energy in Beginning, good stuff!

Raul Gurrero (Mexico) - Awesome EP!!! Bombs dropped again by Pure Substance! I like Da Fresh because have a nice funky vibe but Beginning is my favorite!! Nice sidechain pad, housey stabs and the vocal cuts is very good! I'm a fan for Pure Substance.

Flash Brothers - Beginning we like, good track, also The Past is very special track!

Hawkinson – Simply Techno

When Techno essentially would be a big tree with branches like Minimal or Electro style then Hawkinson would be the trunk of that tree. While others have jumped on the bandwagon’s that have come and gone, Hawkinson knew from the first day where he belonged - simply techno.
His first inspirations came from the same sources as most guys
in the business too – Kraftwerk,
Jean Michel Jarre, New Order, Depeche Mode
and Front 242 or Nitzer Ebb.

The difference is: he has remained true to his inspirations.

That is exactly what Hawkinson stands for and something other producers lost long ago – respect for the DJ culture. “DJing was and is still composing for me. I have always loved taking on new challenges - to take two vinyls and create something new.’’

Hawkinson has already a few time of DJing behind him. Since 2001, he has played at various clubs in Berlin. At just 23 years old, he secured his first gig at the legendary Tresor.
Now with his first releases Hawkinson displays the outcome of staying true
to his passion.
He knows what the crowd wants – what they need and he knows where he belongs – to the trunk of the Techno-tree. See for yourself. „The Session EP“ on Mueller Rec. is either melody impoverished like Minimal style or artificial overblown like Trance – all 3 tracks are simply good Techno
for the dance floor but this stuff is also worthy listening at home
or wherever you are with your big headphones. And it is no coincidence that an additional label, Pure Substance, has signed for more tracks from Hawkinson. Monthly the Techno magazine Partysan asks various artists the same questions in their series “11 Statements”.
One of their questions is, “What do you say to those who believe that Techno is dead?”
Without hesitation he responds, “No.” His DJing and his tracks give the same answer!
